The emptying fees for biowaste and packaging waste include a waste bin as a service (manually movable bins, sizes 140l to 660l). A bin does not have to be purchased separately.

Basic charge

The basic charge is based on the waste tariff order (Waste tariff) approved by the Waste Committee and is based on the Waste Act (Waste Act, chapter 9, section 78(3)). The basic charge is collected once a year from every permanent and free-time residents located in the LHJ´s operating area. The charge is based on the number of housing units on the property and whether or not the property has permanent residents. The charge covers the common and equal basic waste management services based on the Waste Act, including:

• reception of hazardous waste from households and farms free of charge
• Counselling and environmental education for households, daycare centres, schools, associations free of charge
• maintenance of waste stations and recycling points
• the Waste Committee’s
• work and development of waste management
