Separate collection of waste in housing companies

Well-functioning waste management brings savings to the housing company

Did you know that waste management accounts for approximately 3.5–7 per cent of the housing company’s maintenance costs, depending on the size of the site? As a resident, you pay the costs of waste management either in maintenance charge or rent.

Loimi-Häme Waste Management offers the housing company sorting advice, various guides and help in planning the waste disposal point. A functional and correctly dimensioned waste facility and optimised emptying intervals inspire residents to sort and at the same time bring clear savings in costs, as your housing company does not pay for unnecessary emptying. A well-designed waste room also makes it easier to empty containers, gives a neat impression, increases comfort and improves the safety of housing companies.

LHJ is responsible for tendering the transport of biowaste and packaging waste (glass, metal, cardboard and plastic packaging) in its operating area. The emptying of the waste container is handled by private service providers as LHJ’s contractors. Customer service and invoicing related to biowaste and packaging waste are handled.

In addition, separate collection of biowaste will become mandatory in all properties between July and October 2024 in urban centres with more than 10,000 inhabitants. Such areas include the urban area starting from the centre of Forssa and the central settlement of Sastamala.
