Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto Oy (LHJ) is a waste management company owned by 16 municipalities. We handle the service responsibilities imposed on municipalities by the waste legislation within our owner municipalities. The company has processing centres in Forssa and Säkylä. We provide waste management services in each owner municipality. The population in the area is about 130,000.

Biodegradable waste

The obligation to compost or separately collect biodegradable waste containing food waste, which will come into force on 19 July 2024, applies to the continuous urban area extending from the centre of Forssa to Jokioinen and Tammela as well as the urban area that starts from the centre of Sastamala.
