Separate collection service area of Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto

The transport area in which Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto collects biodegradable waste and packaging waste, comprises the urban areas. Which are identified by the Monitoring System of Spatial Structure and Urban Form (YKR), maintained by the Finnish Environment Institute, as well as a voluntary transport area that is based on the garbage truck´s driving route. The transport area consists of the following areas:

  • The operating area of Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto.
  • Area A, indicated in green: All properties will be subject to the obligation to collect biodegradable waste (biowaste bin or composter) starting from 19 July 2024. The obligation will not apply to free-time residencies until 31 December 2027.
  • Area B, indicated in darker blue: The separate collection obligation applies to residential properties with at least five housing units (cardboard, glass and plastic packaging waste, metal and biodegradable waste).
  • Area C, indicated in lighter blue: collection of recoverable and biodegradable waste on a voluntary basis.

You can use the map’s address search function to check whether your property belongs to the municipality’s transport area. After using the search function, zoom out slightly to see where exactly your property is located within the transport area. The map is raster-based.

Properties located in areas outside of the transport area (no background colour) can be connected to the waste transport area on a case-by-case basis. Contact the customer service team of Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto to ask whether your property can be connected.
