Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto organises the collection of biodegradable waste in all municipalities in its operating area as of 1 September 2023.
The Waste Act obligates all housing companies with at least five housing units to collect biodegradable waste separately either by joining a biowaste bin emptying service or by composting the waste.
Biodegradable waste collected separately is utilised at a biogas plant, which produces soil conditioner alongside biogas.
